Sariah Dempaire-Salomon

Sariah Dempaire-Salomon’s involvements as a pirate began with joining the Student Government Association as a Freshman Senator, continuing on to become a Sophomore Senator, the Junior Class Vice President, and the Senior Class President. She was also a member of the Scholars Club, Captain’s Club, Beta Club, Spanish Club, Interact Club, Pirate Pride Club, Junior Class Officers Leadership Team, Pirate Peer, and a Girls State Delegate for The American Legion Auxiliary. She has also received student and student-athlete of the month.

She has also spent a substantial amount of time giving back to her community through organizations like the Homeless Coalition, Habitat for Humanity, Virginia B. Andes Clinic, Relay for Life, Octagon Wildlife Sanctuary, National Multiple Sclerosis and Keep Charlotte Beautiful, as well as volunteering at the local elementary school.

Sariah has participated in Basketball, Basketball Cheer, Weightlifting, and Track and Field. Within her athletic career, she was a part of the weightlifting district championship team, has been recognized as a girl’s weightlifting State Qualifier, also a school record holder in shot put and is planning to breaking a 26 year old school record in discus this season. She is the captain of the Track and Field team, has received the Coaches’ Award for track and field. She is also planning to continue competing in Track and Field on the collegiate level.

Sariah plans on being in the Navy, while attending Appalachian State University in the fall to double major in Biochemistry and Exercise Science, going on to receive her Physician Assistant Certification to focus on Sports Medicine. She intends to use her P.A. to work with professional athletes.
